The Institute uses random digit dialing for most of its phone surveys.
The Institute also develops social, behavioral, and health research programs and projects. The Institute has in the past also collaborated with local and state governments to measure public opinion of government performance.
Two surveys the Institute performs regularly are the Ohio Poll (performed quarterly) and the Greater Cincinnati Survey (performed biennially). The Ohio Poll measures the knowledge and opinions of the citizens of the state of Ohio. The Greater Cincinnati Survey measures the knowledge and opinions of people residing in the Greater Cincinnati area (Hamilton, Clermont, Butler, Warren counties in Ohio, Boone, Kenton, Campbell counties in Kentucky, and Dearborn County in Indiana). As of the summer of 2006, the Ohio Poll has been administered one hundred and four times. As of the summer of 2006, the Greater Cincinnati Survey has been administered fifty-six times.
The Institute for Policy Research has conducted surveys in the past for the Ohio Department of Transportation, the Cincinnati International Wine Festival, the Ohio Organ Donor Network, the Cincinnati Art Museum, the University of Cincinnati, the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Stroke Team, the Cincinnati METRO, and the Ohio Department of Health.
It is located on the University of Cincinnati’s main campus in Cincinnati, Ohio.
