}} }Humba Wumba is a female shaman in the game Banjo-Tooie. She seems to have an unknown rvalry with another well-known character in the game, Mumbo Jumbo. It could be because the two seemed to be quite powerful shamans in magic.
In Banjo-Kazooie, Mumbo was the one who transformed the hero into alternate animals and objects. In Banjo-Tooie, however, he was a playable character that helped out in various levels of the game by performing tricks he couldn't do in the previous one. It's this game where Humba Wumba plays the role of transforming the hero into new animals and objects, aside from the bumblebee transformation.
Since both shamans had the ability to turn others into various objects, it was actually suspectible for a rivalry to occur. Although this one seemed to happen some time before the events of Banjo-Tooie, maybe even before Banjo-Kazooie. Wumba's only reference to the skull-masked shaman are threats when the player controlling Mumbo enters her wigwam. Mumbo makes references of his own when the player completes the game, and a cutscene is introduced where the party that was supposed to be for Banjo and Kazooie was already over. At this point, blames are being thrown at one another and this is where Mumbo exposes his well-known rivalry to Wumba by telling her to shut up or else he'll summon the golden giant, a magic trick he can do in the game.
It is unknown why, where or how their rivalry started, but it is possible that they met sometime during their training as Mumbo claimed in Banjo-Kazooie: Gruntilda's Revenge that he was still a shaman in training. Since Mumbo is now able to summon rain, oxygenate water, revive beings, etc., it could be that he has a higher "rank" in shaman magic than Wumba. However, this theory can very well be proven true, since Wumba can only change Banjo and Kazooie into animals and objects as explained above, and she requires a Glowbo to do so, despite her threat to turn Mumbo into a frog, assuming people would think she'd just throw him into the pool in her wigwam. She can only transform others if they jump into her pool filled with the magic of required Glowbo, while Mumbo was able to do so without the need of a pool. He only needs the power of Glowbos to do other tasks that considerably uses a lot more magic than his simple transformations. Compared to Wumba's skill in magic, Mumbo may be a couple of levels higher than Wumba herself.
