Holly's Law is a proposed law which would ban Mifepristone in the United States. The cited reason is safety concerns. Holly's Law is named after Holly Patterson, an 18-year-old woman who is believed to have been the third woman in the United States who died after taking Mifepristone (also called its old name, RU-486). She died shortly after following the mifepristone dose with a vaginal dose of misoprostol, a medication that is labeled only for oral use.
