The Hitachi Flora Prius was a computer marketed in Japan during the late 1990s. It was the only major consumer computer platform to be preinstalled with multiple operating systems. The Flora Prius was preinstalled with both Microsoft's Windows 98 as well as BeOS. It did not, however, have a dual-boot option as Microsoft applied pressure to hide the BeOS from the end-user. In effect, half the hard drive was hidden from the end-user, and a series of complicated manipulations were necessary to activate the BeOS partition.
