Heidemarie Martha Stefanyshyn-Piper (born February 7, 1963 in St. Paul, Minnesota) is an American astronaut. She will fly her first mission on STS-115 (slated for launch in the summer of 2006), on board which she will be a Mission Specials. She holds S.B. (1984) and S.M. (1985) degrees in mechanical engineering from MIT, and is a Commander in the United States Navy.
