Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (due out in 2007) is a film based on J.K. Rowling's fifth book in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It will be directed by David Yates.[ The screenwriter will be Michael Goldenberg,][ replacing Steve Kloves who wrote the screenplays for the first four films.] Producer David Heyman has said that the first teaser trailer for the movie is expected to come out sometime towards the end of 2006. Warner Bros. has confirmed a North America release date of July 13, 2007, both in conventional theaters and IMAX theaters.[

- Leavesden Studios: has been confirmed by many sources, including J. K. Rowling, that it will, once again, be the studio location for scenes (mostly interior)

- Watford: where a reporter from the Australian television program "Sunrise" visited the set.
- Glenfinnan: in front of Bonnie Prince Charlie's Monument where Harry skips stones; the Hogwarts Express will also cross a viaduct here.
- Glencoe, where a computer-aided helicopter shot scenes of Hagrid's Hut in Clachaig Gully.

Filming rumours
- Filming will take place in the UK, presumably in Alnwick, Gloucester, and Oxford where filming for the past four movies has taken place.
- Apparently, Scotland's weather this year isn't snowy enough for the glorious magical backdrop of Hogwarts. This has led to further information regarding the fifth film being filmed overseas - which may be the case: it is rumoured that Scandinavia may soon be the replaced location
- Producer David Heyman is considering doing some filming outside the UK.
- Director David Yates is hoping to film a sequence (Wizard Chase) on the River Thames and through the London Suburbs.
- Recent rumors have stated that filming has taken place at Butler's Wharf, near Tower Bridge in London, which would agree with Yates' above statement.
- Savona, Italy: filming was rumored to take place around small medieval towns and castles. The rumor was subsequnetly debunked by Warner Bros.

- On February 5, fan site Harry Potter Fan Zone received pictures of Robbie Jarvis (picture) and Susie Shinner (picture), the two unknown teens playing James Potter and Lily Potter, respectively. The authenticity of the Jarvis picture has been confirmed.
- David Heyman has confirmed that there will be a trailer for the movie by the end of the year.

] - Composer Nicholas Hooper will compose music for this film, though Dario Marianelli was once rumored by IMDb and fan sites to score the movie. John Williams was also rumored to return after his absence from Goblet of Fire, but he is only credited as the composer of the themes.
- Miranda Richardson, despite speculation, stated she wouldn't be back and, David Heyman confirmed at a Goblet of Fire red carpet interview with The Leaky Cauldron that Rita Skeeter will not return.
