Temiskaming Shores, Ontario is a city in Northern Ontario, Canada.It was created by the amalgamation of New Liskeard, Haileybury, and the Township of Dymond. It is located near the Quebec border on the shores of Lake Timiskaming. With a population of slightly over 10,000, Temiskaming Shores was granted city status in 2004. Haileybury is the seat of Timiskaming District.
Haileybury is the southern-most region, district, or borough of Temiskaming Shores and has a population of approximately 4,500.
Dymond Township is the northern-most region, district, or borough of Temiskaming Shores. It contains most of the large commercial enterprises (such as Walmart and a line of fast food restaurants) and the city's single shopping mall.
The current mayor of Temiskaming Shores is Jamie Hawken who previously was the mayor of New Liskeard, and there are 6 city councillors. The city is represented at the provincial level by David Ramsay (Liberal, Timiskaming-Cochrane) and at the federal level by Anthony Rota (Liberal, Nipissing-Timiskaming.)
