Gyration Inc. is a company that produces a range of wireless optical mice that utilize gyroscope technology . This allows for the motion tracking of the mouse in mid air, allowing effective use of the mouse without a worksurface. Additionally, the products may also act as tradional tabletop mice.
Established in Saratoga, California in 1989, the company was acquired by Thomson SA in August 2004. Nintendo are also investors in the company, having purchased an undisclosed amount of stock in 2001. *
