Guru Har Krishan () (7 July 1656 - 30 March 1664) was the eighth of the Ten Gurus of Sikhism, and he became Guru on 7 October1661 following in the footsteps of his father, Guru Har Rai. Before Har Krishan died, he nominated his granduncle, Guru Teg Bahadur, as the next Guru of the Sikhs. The following is a summary of the main highlights of his short life:
