Guo Jingjing (Chinese: 郭晶晶, pinyin: Guō Jīngjīng) (born October 15, 1981) is an athlete from the People's Republic of China. She competes in diving. Born in Baoding, Hebei province, she left her family at the age of eleven in order to train.
Guo represented China at the 2004 Summer Olympics, earning a gold medal in the 3 metre women's synchronized springboard along with Wu Minxia before finally winning her first individual Olympic gold in the 3 metre women's springboard. She's the leading member of the Chinese national women's diving team after Fu Mingxia.
Guo's off-the-board affairs after the Summer Olympics have been the subject of scrutiny in Mainland Chinese and Hong Kong media outlets. She is reputed to be the alleged girlfriend of Chinese diver Tian Liang, although it is a relationship she neither admits to nor denies. Guo made entertainment headlines recently with a paparazzi shot of her dining with the grandson of Henry Fok, a Hong Kong tycoon, and insiders claimed she was cautioned for having too many advertising contracts and exposure since her Olympics win.
