A Grigri (or Gri-gri, Gris-gris) is a hand-sized belay device designed to help secure rock-climbing or rope-acrobatic activities. Its main characteristic is self-locking behaviour under a shock load. Belayers using a Gri-Gri need full-attention on their climber and skillful operation to ensure safety. Grigri is a trademark of Petzl, but the success of this tool is so huge that it is likely to become a common name.

Gris-gris, also spelt grigri, is an Vodoun/Voodoo talisman or amulet that protects the wearer from evil or brings luck. This use of the word Gris-Gris usually describes a small cloth bag worn on the person. Inside is placed a mixture of one or more of the following: herbs, oils, stones, bones, hair, nails, or other personal items.

The Gris Gris is a psychedelic band from Oakland, California. They have released two albums on Birdman Records. The band is named after the Dr. John album of the same name, "Gris-gris."
