The Greater Sunda Islands are a group of islands on the western part of the Malay Archipelago. Islands included in the group are Borneo, Java, Sulawesi and Sumatra. The group is politically split between Brunei, Indonesia, and Malaysia.
They can be contrasted with the Lesser Sunda Islands to the east, and together with them make up the Sunda Islands.
