The Quebec City metropolitam area (french: Communauté métropolitaine de Québec) is a geopolitical region encompassing numerous cities, towns and villages in the Quebec City economic area.

History


The Quebec City metropolitan area (QMA) was created on January 1, 2002. Creation date of the new towns of Lévis and Quebec.

The population of QMA is about 750,000 inhabitants. It is the second greater community metropolitan in Quebec and the sixth in Canada.

* Wendake is a federal Indian reserve wedged in Quebec City.
** L'Ancienne-Lorette is wedged in Quebec City.
*** L'Île d'Orléans contains 6 parishes.
