A gibibit (a contraction of giga binary bit) is a unit of information or computer storage, abbreviated Gibit or sometimes Gib.

1 gibibit = 2³⁰ bits = 1,073,741,824 bits = 1,024 mebibits

The gibibit is closely related to the gigabit, which can either be a synonym for gibibit, or refer to 10⁹ bits = 1,000,000,000 bits, depending on context.
