George Edwardes (d. 1915) was a theatre manager who specialized in musical comedy.
Edwardes worked first at Daly's Theatre in London, then the Gaiety Theatre. He managed some of Richard D'Oyly Carte's Gilbert and Sullivan productions, and then became a manager on his own. He elevated his musical comedy productions above the level of simple burlesque by creating a series of shows featuring his beautiful, dancing Gaiety Girls. Although he never acted in his productions, he controlled every other aspect of them. He was later knighted for his work in the theatre.
