Frontierland is one of the "themed lands" at the many Magic Kingdom-style parks run by The Walt Disney Company around the world. At Tokyo Disneyland, this area is named Westernland.
Disneyland's Frontierland is home to the first Big Thunder Mountain Railroad roller coaster, which opened in 1979. It is also the location of the Rivers of America, where the nighttime Fantasmic! show is held, and upon which sail the Mark Twain riverboat and Columbia Sailing Ship, a replica of American Robert Gray's 18th century ship that circumnavigated the globe.
Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom is very similar to the one at Disneyland. It borders Adventureland, Liberty Square, and Rivers of America (upon which the Liberty Belle sails).
Tokyo Disneyland offers a smaller Frontierland known as Westernland, as frontiers and cowboys are not as closely related in Japanese popular culture. The Mark Twain sails this park's Rivers of America.
Hong Kong Disneyland does not presently have a Frontierland, but it has been rumored as a second-phase area.
Due to the small size of the park, this Frontierland may be the first major land in any Magic Kingdom park to be outside the perimeter railroad track. If the land is ever to be built, it will occupy the area in the park traditionally occupied by the Mickey's Toontown land and its sisters at Disneyland, the Magic Kingdom and Tokyo Disneyland.
