The frontal eye fields (FEF) is a region located in the dorsolateral frontal cortex of the primate brain reported to be activated during the initiation of eye movements, such as voluntary saccades and pursuit eye movements. The FEF constitutes togehter with the supplementary eye fields (SEF) and the intraparietal sulcus (IPS) one of the three most important cortical areas involved in the generation of eye movements.
