Freshers' Week is a week long programme of specially organised events to welcome new students their new university within the United Kingdom and other English speaking countries. It is an excellent opportunity for Freshers to meet and get to know other Freshers and students as well as become familiar with the representatives of their Student Union.

The week is also a great way to get to know the city or town which is home to the university and number of events will be at the best student hangouts in the town as well as on campus. Most campuses take the opportunity to promote safe sex practices to their students and sometimes offer leaflets on the subject and free condoms.
