Russell Investment Group is an investment services company based in Tacoma, Washington. It manages $155 billion in assets directly and is consultant to firms worldwide that collectively manage $2.4 trillion in assets. Russell also publishes 24 U.S. stock market indices as well as Japanese equity indexes. Their most famous indices are the Russell 1000, Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 Indices, which monitor publicly-traded US large- and small-cap companies and the largest 3000 corporations, respectively. It also offers retail and institutional mutual funds.

Founded by Frank Russell in 1936 as a Tacoma, Washington brokerage, the Frank Russell Company, Russell first began its investment consulting business in 1969 with J.C. Penney as its first client. It created its first indexes in 1982.

In 1999, Russell was purchased by the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company of Milwaukee.

In 2003, it changed its name from the Frank Russell Company to the Russell Investment Group.
