Francisco Atanasio Dominguez was a Franciscan missionary and explorer of the Southwest United States in 1776. Along with Silvestre Velez de Escalante, he was a member of an overland expedition trying to reach Monterey, California from New Mexico, during which he passed by the Grand Canyon, and was in the first group of white men to go through northern Utah.
