fotopic.net is a digital photo sharing website and web services suite.

fotopic.net began as a private collection of photographs of a British couple, Joel and Nicky Rowbottom, on 2nd August 1999 at http://photos.jml.net with a well-designed engine behind the pictures. In February 2001 they opened the engine up to everyone.

Fotopic offers the following features for their free accounts:

  • 250MB of disk space for photos
  • More space can be bought for a free account
  • Simple photo upload via web browser, ftp or email
  • Direct URL links to your albums and/or photos
  • Your friends can browse without signing up
  • Your friends can download the original photo
  • All the usual print services you can pay for

In addition there is a paid Premium service which offers additional features.

The galleries are particularly well used by British transport enthusiasts.
