The Fortune Global 500 is a ranking of the top 500 corporations as measured by revenue. The list is compiled and published annually by Fortune magazine. It differs from the Fortune 500 in that the latter only lists the top US corporations.

  1. Wal-Mart - United States (retail)
  2. BP - United Kingdom (oil)
  3. ExxonMobil - United States (oil)
  4. Royal Dutch Shell - Netherlands/United Kingdom (oil)
  5. General Motors - United States (automobiles)
  6. DaimlerChrysler - Germany (automobiles)
  7. Toyota Motor Corporation - Japan (automobiles)
  8. Ford Motor Company - United States (automobiles)
  9. General Electric - United States (conglomerate)

The top ten includes four oil companies, four automobile manufacturers, one retailer and one conglomerate. The complete list is available online.
