The Federal Network Agency for Electricity, Gas, Telecommunications, Postal Service and Railways (German: Bundesnetzagentur für Elektrizität, Gas, Telekommunikation, Post und Eisenbahnen, abbreviation: BNetzA) is the German regulatory office for the telecommunactions, postal services, electricity, gas and train markets. It was formerly known as the Regulatory Authority for Telecommunications and Posts (German: Regulierungsbehörde für Telekommunikation und Post, RegTP).
On March 13, 2005, the Government decided to rename the agency to Bundesnetzagentur (Federal Network Agency). Its purpose will be extended to the train market and to internet services.
