The term Federal City (german Bundesstadt) is the title for the cities of Bonn, Germany and Bern, Switzerland. Since April 28th, 1994 it marks Bonn as the seccond official residence of the Federal President, Federal Chancellor, Bundesrat (upper house) and the first official residence of six federal ministries and about 20 federal authorities.

For Bern it's the official title for its as the capital of Switzerland.
