Fear of God or F.O.G. is a Swiss grindcore band, from the middle of 80´s.
They started in 1987 and broke-up in 1988, but reformed in the middle of 2002.
One of their most acclaimed works is the EP Pneumatic Slaughter. But they kicked offf with their s/t 7"EP (yeah, on vinyl ....) in 1987 - a true pioneering grindcore massacre that was and is way beyond anythnig else ever released in terms of musical brutality. The 7" had 21 tracks, all of them later on got covered by other bands including Nausum, Mike Patton, Atoxxxico, Stress, Drop Dead and many many more.
The band is not to be confused with a number of other Fear Of Gods. One was a Los Angeles thrash metal band that eventually morphed into F.O.G., who was then based in Baltimore. Another earlier Fear Of God from Baltimore was an old school hardcore punk band who was active in the early 1980s.
