The Facility for Airborne Atmospheric Measurements (FAAM) is a modified BAe 146 research aircraft operated on behalf of the Met Office and the Natural Environment Research Council.

In the aftermath of the Hertfordshire Oil Storage Terminal fire, on December 11, 2005, the aircraft was deployed to measure the boundaries and contents of the smoke plume.
