The AMD Athlon FX-60 is a dual core processor with the power of two FX-55 processors based on the Toledo architecture, this processor includes:

  • HyperTransport technology (at a theoretical 1000 MHz bus width) and an integrated DDR memory controller for maximum performance and system efficiency

  • 64 kB L1 cache per core
  • 1MB L2 cache per core
  • MMX, Extended 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, AMD64, Cool'n'Quiet, NX Bit instruction sets
  • 1.35 - 1.40 operation voltage
  • A 13x multiplier to differentiate it from the other Toledo dual cores

This product was released on January 9 2006. The processor represents the last Socket 939 processor to be made by AMD as they will be moving to the new Socket AM2. In terms of performance, it beats the Intel Pentium Extreme Edition in most gaming benchmarks but is beaten in multimedia and artificial benchmarks.
