Erik Sprague (June 12, 1972 –) is a freak and sideshow performer, better known as the Lizardman due to his sharpened teeth, full-body tattoo of green scales and bifurcated tongue.
Erik Sprague makes his living as a freak, performing before audiences all over the world. He also makes numerous paid television and public appearances. He has mastered and regularly performs many classic sideshow acts such as the human blockhead, fire eating and breathing, gavage, sword swallowing, the bed of nails, the human dartboard and the insectivore. He also participates in many public and private flesh hook suspension groups and events, and is highly involved in the body modification community. He also writes articles on the body modification website BMEzine.com.
Sprague was a Ph.D. candidate at the University at Albany before beginning his transformation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York.
Sprague currently lives in Austin, Texas with his wife Meghan.
Becoming the Lizardman
Sprague's appearance is the result of numerous incremental body modifications aggregated over the course of several years. More than 650 hours of tattooing, including facial and blackwork tattoos, have created the appearance of lizard-like scales over his entire body. He has stretched earlobes and numerous body piercings, including nipple piercings, an apadravya piercing, and a wide-gauge septum piercing.
A series of Teflon subdermal implants cause his eyebrows to have a ridged appearance. A cosmetic dentist filed four of his teeth into points, and Dr. Lawrence Busino of Albany, New York, surgically bifurcated his tongue by using an argon laser.

Sprague went on tour with Disturbed during their 2005 Jagermeister tour.
