Emmanuel Lewis (born 9 March 1971 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American actor. He is best known for his title role in the 1980s television sitcom Webster. He is only 3 feet 4 inches tall (1.02m), which would qualify him as a dwarf according to the Little People of America. He is said to be a close friend of Michael Jackson. He is often confused with Gary Coleman, star of Diff'rent Strokes and Kyle Massey of That's So Raven.
He also released the Japanese number one hit "City Connection" in 1981 under the name "Emmanuel", which is considered to be rare and impossible to find.
Emmanuel is currently filming a movie with Jamie Kennedy.
Emmanuel is parodied at least three times in Saturday Night Live in the infamous TV Funhouse animated sketches of "The Michael Jackson Show." Emmanuel's animated look is just like Webster, but with grey hair and a grey beard (a joke about him "aging"). One segment shows Michael wearing glasses to see his "close friend," whose celebrity face becomes Emmanuel's face in an animated form. This segment is known for the catchphrase, "Double the Webster, double the fun!" (We see two female celebrities fighting with Webster faces).
In the song "Fire Water Burn" by The Bloodhound Gang, some of the lyrics make fun of Lewis and other celebrities:
1971 births | Living people | African-American actors | Child actors | Television actors | People from Brooklyn | People with dwarfism | The Surreal Life
