EMBASEis a biomedical database produced by Elsevier. EMBASE contains bibliographic records based on scientific articles in the biomedical area and is especially strong in its coverage of drug and pharmaceutical research. EMBASE is similar to MEDLINE in that it contains bibliographic records of biomedical articles but 1,800 of the 4,800+ journals//www.info.embase.com/embase_suite/content/journals/embase_active_journals.pdf covered by EMBASE are not covered by MEDLINE. EMBASE records are indexed using Elsevier's Life Science thesaurus EMTREE[http://www.info.embase.com/emtree/about/. Each record contains the full bibliographic reference and indexing terms. EMBASE is available online via EMBASE.com*, combining EMBASE and MEDLINE on one platform, duplicate citations removed. It is also available via the major online database distributors (vendors).
