Don Juan DeMarco is a film starring Johnny Depp as a man who believes himself to be Don Juan, the greatest lover in the world. Clad in a cape and eye-mask, he undergoes psychiatric treatment with Marlon Brando's character to cure him of his apparent disillusionment with his identity. But the psychiatric sessions have an unexpected effect on his psychiatrist, whose relationship with his wife, played by Faye Dunaway, is also affected.

Latina superstar Selena made a brief cameo as a Mariachi singer. After meeting her on the set, Brando remarked: "She is a very special and very beautiful girl. She has a gift."

Selena recorded a handful of songs for the movie's soundtrack, including a duet with David Byrne, "God's Child (Baila Conmigo)". Selena was shot to death on March 31 1995, exactly one week before the film's release on April 7 1995.

A hit single for Bryan Adams, "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?", is the cornerstone of the soundtrack.
