Dominique Rijpma Van Hulst (stage name Do) is a singer born on 7th September 1981 in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
She is best known for her world-wide top 10 hit in 2002 - 2003, "Heaven", a remake and remix of the '80s hit by Bryan Adams. This version featured DJ Sammy and Yanou, who is also her producer. During this time, she had some problems with the credits of the song. Everywhere she went, she was asked if she was DJ Sammy because she was not given credit on playlists. However, that was fixed on many CDs to read that Do did the vocals and that DJ Sammy and Yanou did the music.
Do's self titled debut album was released in 2004, and reached the top 20 in the Netherlands. The first single from the album, "Voorbij", a duet with Marco Borsato, reached number 1. She also had top 10 hits in the Netherlands with her next two singles, "Love Is Killing Me" and "Angel By My Side". A specially recorded version of "Angel by my Side" was used as the title song for the award winning 2004 film "Ellis in Glamourland", starring Joan Collins.
She has also made a few film appearances, including doing the voice of "Cappy" in the international version of the multi-million dollar film, Robots. Other accomplishments include that she is the only female artist to have two different versions of the same song, "Heaven", on Billboard charts at the same time, peaking at number 8.
Do's second album, "Follow Me" is due for release in the Netherlands on June 19, 2006. The first single was also called 'Follow Me'. A new single, 'Beautiful Thing', is to follow before the albums release. The single was confirmed by Do's official site to be released in June.
