Domestic Goddess was a term coined in the early 1980s by stand-up comedienne Roseanne Barr. The term took the idea of political correctness, which often suggests terms that may be less offensive to replace other phrases, and turned it on its ear. At its core, it simply means "housewife."
The term is now largely out-of-date. However, Roseanne did use it as the title for her planned cooking show in 2003.
