Dog Bites Man is a partially improvised* comedy television show on Comedy Central that debuted in 2006 C.E.
Premise
Dog Bites Man is a
parody of local news coverage, filmed in Denver as a
mockumentary. The show begins with Tillie Sullivan, a former intern for KHBX, returning to the station in
Spokane, Washington to produce the show
American Lives. Tillie reconnects with Kevin Beekin, a big reporter at the station, whom she once dated. Kevin still has feelings for Tillie. With the rest of their news team, made up of Alan the director and Marty the intern, they set out to cover the big stories in Spokane.
Their news station logo is modeled after Fisher Communication's stations, most notably KOMO-TV 4 based in Seattle.
Cast
- Matt Walsh as Kevin Beekin, the star reporter for the news show, who used to date Tillie the producer and still has feelings for her
- Zach Galifianakis as Alan Finger, the show's director. Also a musician, in episode 3, he scored a hit song in Panama City using the name "The Finger" (the song was titled "Come and Get It (Up In Them Guts)").
- A.D. Miles as Marty Shonson, an intern who works on the show as a production assistant
- Andrea Savage as Tillie Sullivan, the show's emotional and incompetent producer who cries when she makes mistakes

- 101 Assignment: Bodybuilders
The team report on a bodybuilding contest and attempt to spice up the story. Also, the recently reunited Kevin Beekin and Tillie Sullivan attempt to get along.
- 102 Assignment: Undercover Homosexual
The team try to uncover discrimination against homosexuals in the city by sending Kevin in as an undercover homosexual.
- 103 Assignment: Spring Break
The team goes do a report on Spring Break. Tillie, who apparenty despises Spring Break gets caught up in the partying and Kevin attempts to "be cool" and talk to the gets about the dangers of Spring Break. Also, Alan Finger records and releases a song,
"Up In 'Dem Guts"
- 104 Assignment: Republican Leadership Conference
The team go to report on the Republican Leadership Conference. Whilst there, Tillie and Marty share a hotel room and Marty grows attracted to Tillie. Kevin tries to make himself appear more important than he is and Alan gets people to sign a petiton for the release his mother from prison for tasering up to 22 dogs.

- The title comes from an old journalistic saying, that if a dog bites a man it isn't newsworthy, but that if a man bites a dog it is.
