Digital printing is the reproduction of digital images on physical surface, such as common or photographic paper, film, cloth, plastic, etc.

Commercial Digital Printing

Since the early nineties, a growing sector of global print production has been Digital, as distinguished from Litho print. Digital Print is used by those requiring the following:

  • Short to medium run colour and mono work
  • Fast turnaround
  • Personalisation (As the image is reproduced each time, variations can be easily introduced)
  • Print on Demand (ie. with an automated ordering system)

The advantage over Litho for short run work is that no plates are needed therefore reducing the initial set-up costs substantially.
