Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery (DMU) is located in Des Moines, Iowa, United States. The university consists of three colleges, the College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM), the College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery (CPMS), and the College of Health Sciences (CHS). CPMS was the first nationally of podiatric colleges to completely integrate studies with an accredited medical school. CPMS students during their first year share curricula, classrooms, and grading scales with the osteopathic medical students. CPMS students consistently score above the national average on standardized board exams (National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners). In recent years, CPMS graduates have all attained 3-year surgical residencies, a statistic none of the other eight schools can boast.
