Niger is divided into seven departments (French: départements; singular – département). Each department's capital is the same as its name.

• Agadez
• Diffa
• Dosso
• Maradi
• Tahoua
• Tillabéri
• Zinder

Additionally, the national capital, Niamey, comprises a capital district.

The departments are subdivided into arrondissements and communes.
