This is a list of characters that have appeared on the PBS Kids GO! series Cyberchase
Major protagonists
Cyberspace leaders (Control Central)
Motherboard
Motherboard is a character in the math-mystery cartoon Cyberchase. She is voiced by actor Kristina Nicoll.
The benevolent ruler of Cyberspace, Motherboard lives in the cybersite Control Central. Her former assistant, a cyborg called The Hacker, released a virus on her, but since her firewall was fully uploaded before the virus hit, it only left her weak. Dr. Marbles and Cybersquad -- three Earth kids, Matt, Jackie, and Inez -- along with their cyber-bird pal Digit -- try to recover the Encryptor Chip, and keep Motherboard safe from Hacker.
Dr. Marbles
Dr. Marbles is the brilliant inventor who services Motherboard, the benevolent ruler of Cyberchase. You can tell he's full of ideas by the lightbulb on his head. His speech is peppered with lots of computer terms like, "Backspace!" instead of "Hold on, there a minute!"
Cybersquad
Jackie
Jackie (voiced by Novie Edwards) is an 11-year-old
African-American girl who lives in the
suburbs with her grandmother. Her favorite activities include
gymnastics,
double Dutch skipping, drawing, and writing plays about herself. Her sense of neatness and organization often helps the kids solve their problems faster. Her biggest pet peeve are bugs and other slimy, creepy stuff, that when she comes in contact with them, she responds by screaming "Ew, ew, double eww!" When she needs to think, she paces.
Often times, Jackie sometimes overreacts when they are in the middle of a crisis. This causes Matt to taunt her by saying an Oscar-like "award goes to phrase". For example:
- Jackie: Cyberspace is doomed, doomed, DOOMED!
- Matt: And the award for best dramatic overreaction outburst goes to..... Jackie!
- Jackie: Maaaatt, will you please cut it out?!
Matt
Matt (voiced by Jacqueline Pillon) is an 11-year-old
farm boy. He likes
skateboards and collecting all kinds of stuff (his backpack is usually full of miscellaneous items). He is a bit impulsive, he tells
jokes, swims, and knows a lot about
mythology and
Star Wars. His
dog's name is
Obi-Wan Kadoggie. He also has
lizards and
frogs. He's best at solving a problem when he can hold it in his hands. Playing with a
yo-yo also helps him when he's thinking. Usually he often calls
Inez "Nezzie" which causes her to call him "Matthew" in retaliation.
Inez
Inez (voiced by Annick Obonsawin) is a 9-year old
Hispanic-American girl and the youngest human member of the cybersquad. Inez is often noted for her excellent use of
vocabulary which Matt often times teases her for. Her favorite movies are the
Harry Potter movies (a parody, Shari Spotter, is featured on some episodes in the show). She is most recognized in the show for using the quotes: "This is not good; this is not good at all! (when something bad happens)" and "Don't call me Nezzie! (whenever Matt calls her that)" Inez is often a buffer character among the Cybersquad since she knows how to compromise and mediate when there is a hard situation. She stands on her head to think better.
Digit
Digit is a bird-like
Cyborg voiced by actor
Gilbert Gottfried. Full name: Digit LeBoid. He, along with three young Earthlings, are the Cybersquad. Together they protect
Cyberspace from the nefarious villain,
Hacker and protect
Motherboard.
Digit was created by The Hacker and worked for him before escaping to become one of Motherboard's helpers and joining the Cybersqaud. Digit can fly by the means of a propeller-like tail, although he prefers to walk. He is a great cook and author of 'The Cyber Chef.' He also can carry many useful objects in a compartment in his chest, including a small likeness of himself called Widget (also voiced by Gilbert Gottfried).

King Dudakis
King Dudakis is the fictional head of Radapolis, an extreme sports Cyberiste. He often uses slang words in his conversations. In the episode
Totally Rad, Hacker attempts to dethrone the King from his place. The king decides to resolve the problem the way they usually do in Radapolis: a skate-off contest.
Slider
Slider is a fictional
James Dean-style teenage skater (about 13 years old) in Radopolis who builds and repairs skateboards. Since season three, he has been a recurring character in the series. According to Slider, his father (Coop) had abandoned him when he was younger because Hacker had hunted Coop for many years. Throughout the remainder of the series, Jackie and Inez seem to have a crush on him, which often makes Matt jealous.
In his first appearance, he helps the Cybersquad retrieve the Totally Rad Ring of Radopolis, a powerful wish-granting ring that was stolen by Hacker. In that same season, during a two part miniseries, he helped the kids save money in an auction for the Encryptor Chip - ironically infected by a virus that, taking the form of a virtual Hacker, takes over Motherboard, though the Squad, with Dr. Marbles' help, manage to stop the virus.
In season four, during two episodes of the miniseries Hacker's Transformatron, Slider asks the kids help to sell cryoxide in exchange for Snelfus to pay Hacker, who's threatening to buy Coop's garage -a ploy to retrieve an important component of a transformatron machine. In the process, Slider finds a letter that leads him to the spot where Coop has been taking refuge from Hacker.
Slider is voiced by Tim Hamaguchi.
Coop
Coop (voiced by legendary skateboarder
Tony Hawk) is the father of Slider. For several years, Hacker has hunted Coop down in order to find his transformation machine. Although Coop refused to hand it over, Hacker, in vengeance, infected him with a dose of magnetite which prematurely aged him. Since then he's hid from Hacker, leaving Slider to fend on his own. In the final episode of the miniseries
Hacker's Transformation, Coop was reunited with Slider. Unfortunately, Hacker found Coop and took Slider hostage, demanding a special part for the transforming machine. Hacker then infected Slider with magnetite to enlarge his feet, preventing him from walking. For the remainder of the episode, the kids slowly cure Slider and eventually halt Hacker's plans.

Ironically, the Cybersquad was forced to prove he was innocent (which he was) in exchange for the antidote to a virus that kept Motherboard asleep. In another episode, Judy and Trudy ask for the kids' help to determine why the water in Sensible Flats has run out so quickly. Their cousin Rudy appears in this episode.
Shangri-La

Master Pi (voiced by
Geoffrey Holder) is the reigning leader of Shangri-La, a peaceful kingdom reminiscent of China. He is dressed in a blue robe and holds a rod with a ball with the symbol
Pi. Master Pi can move around by simply appearing and disappearing. He often gives words of wisdom and prosperity.
Tikiville
Creech
Creech is the young princess-like ruler in the Cybersite, Tikiville. She became the apparent Big Kahuna (the term for their rulers in Tikiville) after competing in a race with other Tikiville-inhabitants as well as Hacker. Creech had mentioned that her first run for the crown was disastrous since she failed to go to the correct direction.
Creech has some peresonalities parallel to that of cybersquad member Inez since she both has an optimistic attitude and uses eloquent vocabulary.
She also is the person in charge of Tikiville's Green Egg of Benedicta.
Antagonists
Hacker
The Hacker (also known as
Hieronymous Hacker) is the main villain in the series, whose deep demonic voice was done by the actor
Christopher Lloyd. In almost every episode he is trying to conquer
Cyberspace, but is thwarted by the actions of the Cybersquad (three Earth children and a
cyborg bird named
Digit). His appearance resembles that of
Elvis Presley. He has green skin, no hair (he wears a black
toupee) and has a pointy chin. He also wears a purple and red cape, purple on the outside, red on the inside.
He was created by the brilliant inventor, Dr. Marbles, to assist
Motherboard, but he rebelled and was exiled to a
cybersite called the Northern Frontier. He has two bumbling
cyborg servants,
Buzz and
Delete. He flies his ship, the
Grim Wreaker (parody of
The Grim Reaper).
Duncebuckets
Hacker created Buzz and Delete along with
Digit, the good-natured cyber-bird who defected to the good guys. Hacker tends to call Buzz and Delete names like
duncebuckets.

Buzz is one of the two bumbling sidekicks of
The Hacker, the villain on the show. Buzz is a small and round
cyborg with a large mouth and scrawny limbs, and he seems to think he's a big tough guy. During seasons one through four and for four episodes in Season 5, Buzz was voiced by the late Len Carlson. Begining in Season 5, actor Philip Williams became the voice of Buzz.
Buzz's best friend and cohort is Delete, who calls him Buzzy. Buzz's favorite food is donuts.
Hacker created Buzz and Delete along with Digit, the good-natured cyber-bird who defected to the good guys. Hacker tends to call Buzz and Delete names like duncebuckets.

Delete is the second of the two bumbling sidekicks of
The Hacker, the villain of the story.
Delete (voiced by Robert Tinkler) is tall and skinny and has a snout like a dog. He is clumsy and always tripping over his own feet. He doesn't understand Hacker's plans, and appears to be about six years old. Delete is many people's favorite character.
Delete's best friend and cohort is Buzz, who calls him Dee-Dee. Delete also loves animals of all kinds, especially bunnies. In fact, he normally wishes to name them George.
Wicked
The Wicked Witch (populary known as Wicked) is another villain that often appears in many adventures. Wicked originally lived in the cybersite Happily Ever Afterville. She often tries to beseech Hacker to become his partner. Hacker has several times reluctantly hired her but somewhere along the way
jilts her. In return, Wicked either casts a spell on him or wrecks his evildoing plans.
Wicked is voiced by Linda Ballantyne.
Recurring characters (minor)
Sam Vander Rom
Sam Vander Rom is a robotic reporter featured in the show's second season, voiced by

True Colors, Sam acts as a
moderator during an election between Motherboard and Hacker.
For Real segment characters
Bianca
Bianca De Groat (known as Bianca in the show) is one of the two people who are the main protagonists in the "For Real" segment of the series. She is a smart, clever, African-American, who often uses the original plot (the animated main plot) to solve everyday real world problems. She owns a dog and hates
anchovies.
Harry
Harry (whose real name, Matt Wilson, is replaced by the alias Harry to differentiate him from animated Matt) is the other protagonist in the "For Real" segment. He often dresses in a nerdish style. In many of the segments he's often rather careless, which usually costs him his current job. Harry's wardrobe, including vintage eyeware, is drawn from Matt Wilson's real life wardrobe.
