Vicks DayQuil is a medicine designed to help relieve many symptoms of a cold that is to be taken orally in either liquid or "LiquiCap" (capsule) form, during the day. Its nighttime counterpart is NyQuil. It was introduced in 1974 under the name "DayCare."

As with NyQuil, DayQuil no longer contains Pseudoephedrine. It has been replaced with phenylephrine.

DayQuil's active ingredients are: Acetaminophen 325 mg Dextromethorphan HBr 15 mg Pseudoephedrine HCI 30 mg (6/28/06) went to CVS today 6 oz bottle

It should not be taken by people who drink a lot of alcohol, who are taking other medicines containing acetaminophen, or who are using a prescribed monoamine oxidase inhibitor.
