David Trézéguet (born 15 October, 1977 in Rouen, France) is a French-Argentine football striker who plays for Juventus and France.

Trézéguet is the son of Argentine football player Jorge Trézéguet, who is the son of French immigrants to Argentina. David Trézéguet's mother gave birth to him while his father was playing in France. David grew up in Argentina after moving there from France at the age of two and played his first professional match in Argentina. He returned to France at the age of 17, when he signed for Monaco.

Playing for the French national side

Trézéguet won the 1998 FIFA World Cup with France, and scored the golden goal against Italy to give the French the 2000 European Championship. He also played for France in the 2002 FIFA World Cup and . Trézéguet was named one of the top 125 greatest living footballers in March 2004. He also played in 1997 FIFA World Youth Championship.

As of 28 June 2006, Trézéguet has made 64 appearances for the French national side, scoring 32 goals in the process.

On 9 July 2006, during the Final of the 2006 FIFA World Cup against Italy which went to penalty kicks, tied 1-1, Trézéguet was the sole player to miss his penalty kick from either team, as Italy won 5-3 (Italy having taken the first kick).

Club play

At club level, Trézéguet has played for Platense in Argentina (1994), Monaco (1995-2000), and Juventus (2001-), with whom he won the Serie A title two times times. Due to the Serie A scandal of 2006 two other Serie A titles for the 2004/2005 and 2005/2006 seasons were stripped (awaiting appeal). He is currently rumored to be in transfer talks with several teams, including Liverpool F.C., and Arsenal.
