David Chaum is the inventor of many cryptographic protocols and has contributed to the advancement of electronic cash.
Chaum founded DigiCash in 1990, an electronic cash company. Additionally, in 1982 he founded the International Association for Cryptologic Research (IACR), which currently organizes some of the most important academic conferences in cryptography research.
Dr. Chaum gained a doctorate in Computer Science and Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley. Subsequently, he taught at the New York University Graduate School of Business Administration and at the University of California.
