Dave Morris is a British gamebook author of the 1980s and 1990s. He is most famous for the Fabled Lands series, but also wrote the Blood Sword, Dragon Warriors and Golden Dragon series, as well as penning a single Fighting Fantasy gamebook (The Keep of the Lich Lord).
Morris rarely worked alone on gamebooks; most of his creations were co-authored with other gamebook writers, usually Jamie Thomson (Fabled Lands and The Keep of the Lich Lord) or Oliver Johnson (Blood Sword, Dragon Warriors and Golden Dragon).
He is an alumnus of Magdalen College, Oxford.
He is also notable for having a more poetic writing style than most other gamebook authors at the time.
Morris also co-authored a book on the computer gaming industry.
In addition to his writing, Morris was a leading developer of the Empire of the Petal Throne gaming system (created by MAR Barker and published by TSR), creating a playable rules system (Tirikelu) was well as editing a superior fanzine (Eye of All-Seeing Wonder).
