Darren James Dreifort (born May 3, 1972 in Wichita, Kansas) was a Major League Baseball pitcher. He officially announced his retirement on February 23, 2006. He played his entire professional career with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Dreifort's five year, fifty-five million dollar contract is arguably the worst of all time, but in fairness he was compromised by frequent injuries that also caused him to miss three full seasons before he finally retired. Dreifort underwent fourteen surgeries as a member of the Dodgers, on his knee, his hip, and his shoulder.

Dreifort finished with a career record of 48 wins versus 60 losses, 11 saves, 802 strikeouts and a 4.35 earned run average over a 9 year career. Dreifort is a graduate from Wichita Heights High School, class of 1990.
