Dale A. Frail is a Canadian astronomer who received a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 1989.

Dail Frail and Alexander Wolszczan discovered the first real pulsar planets, around PSR 1257+12. These were the first exoplanets discovered. Frail, working for the National Radio Astronomy Observatory, and Wolszcan, announced two planets and a possible third. He also studies gamma ray bursters
