Sid Wilson (born Sidney George Wilson on March 15, 1978 in Des Moines, Iowa) is a turntablist for the musical group Slipknot.

Sid Wilson also tours as DJ Starscream, a name taken from the popular 1980s television show Transformers. He is currently signed to Japanese/US label Nitrous Oxide (N20) Records.

Trivia

  • Sid made an appearance at Dutch techno festival Sensation Black on July 8th 2006 along with DJ Rob Gee ended in fistfight on the stage. The crowd did not appreciate the mix of Techno and Hard Rock and started to boo and throw objects. A man climbed on the stage using the massive bass sound system as a ladder and a fight erupted between this man and the musicians. Both the spectator and the musicians where fined 2500 Euros by the dutch police for the incident. Sensation Black then continued without any major incident.
  • Sid is the youngest Slipknot member.
  • Sid's original mask was a Swiss made gas mask, he then used several other types of gas masks and is now in a skull mask. He has around eight different types of gas masks.
  • Sid has said that the way he DJ's in Slipknot is inspired by how he finds it harder to breathe in his mask.
  • Punk rock was Sid's first passion to perform, playing bass and saxophone in various upstart punk bands.
  • Sid claims that he suffers from Organic Brain Syndrome.

  • Sid graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa.
  • Sid was born with 6 fingers on each hand. The 6th finger on both hands were amputated.
  • Chris Fehn said about Sid "He's fuckin' fantastic. A very good mate. He's such a sweet person, disagree? Shut the fuck up!"

Tattoos

  • Right hand: Decepticon Logo on the back of the hand, and Must across the fingers.
  • Left hand: Autobot Logo on the back of the hand, and Kill across the fingers.
  • Left arm: Red and yellow flames running down to the elbow. (has buildings in the background, he claimed in one interview it was a tribute to September 11th, but ironically had the buildings inked in done before it happened)
  • Left elbow: Stars around it.
  • Chest: Wilson Family emblem.
