Dr. Craig Levitz, MD is one of the worlds leading orthopedic surgeons who specializes in knee, shoulder and elbow disorders and repair.
Dr. Craig Levitz is currently the Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at South Nassau Community Hospital, an affiliate of the Columbia University Healthcare system.
He has authored and published over 20 scientific papers focusing on advances in shoulder and knee surgery.
His practice involves minimally invasive surgery which has various benefits over open surgery which he persorms as well.
Dr. Craig Levitz graduated Cornell University with cum laude afterwards completing University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and performed a 5 year orthopaedic residency at the Hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania. After his residency he was selected from 3000 applicants for a fellowship with Dr. James R. Andrews, the most outstanding sports medicine surgeon in the world.
Dr. Levitz has operated on over 100 professional football, baseball, basketball and NHL athletes. He has served as an assistant team physician for the auburn university football team and has participated in the Cincinnati Reds, the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and many members of the PGA tour.
Dr. Craig Levitz is a member of the Arthroscopic Association of North America, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
