Costa Crociere S.p.A. is the leading cruise company in Europe - with a market leader position in Italy, France, Spain, Switzerland - and in South America. In addition, Costa is the first international company authorized to operate in the Republic of China. Costa Cruises boasts the most modern fleet of all European cruise companies: 11 ships (with the new flagship Costa Concordia, in service from July 2006) with a capacity of 20,200 guests in double occupancy cabins.

In 2005 Costa Cruises reached about 870,000 total guests (+19%), corresponding to 6,580,000 passengers per day (+18%). This represents a record result for the company and for the European cruise industry. The occupancy rate was indeed about 105%. The Company foresees to exceed one million total guests within 2007.
