Commissioner is the highest rank of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and of its predecessor agencies, the North West Mounted Police (1873 to 1904) and the Royal North West Mounted Police (1904 to February 1, 1920). The Commissioner reports directly to the Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.

There have been 20 Commissioners since the founding of the NWMP in 1873:
