Cluster Resources, Inc. is provider of workload and resource management software and services for cluster computing, grid computing and utility-based computing environments. Cluster Resources delivers software products and services that enable an organization to understand, control, and fully optimize resources such as computational hardware, storage, network and licenses. Cluster Resources' solutions manage the interactions between compute resources and consumers across submission, sharing, monitoring, administration, reporting and billing processes. Cluster Resources provides the most intelligent policy engine in the industry, unifying management so all investments are consumed to help organizations reach their objectives.
History
In 2001, Cluster Resources, Inc. was developed under the leadership of the Supercluster Development Group. They combined the experience of providing cutting-edge high performance computing software since the early 1990's with the experience of servicing hundreds of customer sites to create the professional services and software development organization known as Cluster Resources, Inc.
Cluster Resources' product line has been recognized as "the scheduler of choice" by the President's Information Technology Advisory Committee to manage the next generation of the United States' high performance supercomputers. Cluster Resources also provides the workload management and scheduling software that runs the world's largest grid (Teragrid), the world's largest data center (CERN), and manages many of the largest clusters in the world.
Foundation
In 1995, the founder of Cluster Resources, Inc. envisioned a system in which multiple computers could act intelligently, and the software would empower organizations to fully understand, control and optimize their compute resources. And thus the Maui Scheduler and subsequently the Moab family of products were created.
Hundreds of leading government, commercial, and academic/research laboratories throughout the world rely on Cluster Resources, Inc. for software, development, support, and consulting services to help obtain optimal use of their compute resources. These laboratories include Teragrid, WestGrid, ViriginaTech, IRB, and SARA. These organizations and others often improve performance of clusters by 20 to 30 percent, with some organizations more than doubling the usage of their compute resources.
