Holargos or Cholargos, rarely Kholargos (Greek: Χολαργός) Latin/Older form: Cholargus is a suburb of Athens, Greece, located northeast of the city center and about 6 kilometers away from Syntagma square. It is accessed by Messogion Avenue in the west and is now accessed to Attiki Odos at number 6 north of the town hall.
The name of the suburb dates back to the ancient Athens, but the deme of Cholargos, which belonged to the tribe of Acamantis (Greek: Ακαμαντίδα φυλή) was near modern Kamatero (or Peristeri or Sepolia according to other researchers). The most prominent "Χολαργεύς" (citizen of Cholargos) was Pericles.
